Prosecuting the case, Jason Beal said during his opening: “This case is about a falling out that occurred between drug dealers and a drug user. After an extended period of deliberation the jury returned to convict Tripp of causing grievous bodily harm with intent but acquitted him of attempted murder. Tripp, of St Thomas Street in Penryn, had been on trial at Truro Crown Court charged with attempted murder and alternative lesser charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing grievous bodily harm.

Simon Luke Tripp, 23, who goes by the name Luke, stabbed Adam Jenson-Lee in Falmouth in September 2017 over the debt after paying him a warning visit two weeks earlier. A drug debt enforcer was handed a lengthy prison sentence for stabbing a drug addict six times on his doorstep over a £200 debt.
